Corvetta M. Vann, Principal

It is an honor to be Principal of C. J. Donald Elementary School.  Having been an educator with Fairfield City School System for many years, educating the whole child has always been of utmost importance.  Our goal at CJD is to insure academic success for all students by utilizing effective instructional strategies.  For many years we have taken pride in being in an urban community and yet striving for academic excellence.  As we continue to make a positive difference, we at CJD remain committed to excellence. Our motto: “The Donald difference: Educating every child, every day… Whatever It Takes!!!”  Principal's Biography Ms. Corvetta Vann came to C. J. Donald Elementary School as Principal in August 2007.  Before coming to CJD, Ms. Vann served two years as an assistant principal and taught fifth grade for ten years in the Fairfield City School System. Ms. Vann received her Bachelor of Science degree in Counseling/Guidance from the University of Montevallo, Master of Education degree in Elementary Education from Alabama A&M University, and her Educational Specialist degree from the University of Alabama at Birmingham.  Presently, she is a Doctoral candidate in Educational Leadership at the University of Alabama at Birmingham. Ms. Vann considers it an honor and privilege to serve the students, parents, and dedicated staff of CJD.  With collaborative efforts of the home/school/community partnerships, Ms. Vann believes that each child deserves the best academically, socially, and emotionally to be productive citizens in society  .  She looks forward to working with all stakeholders as C.J. Donald continues to develop each child’s potential through engaging learning experiences while promoting responsibility, respect, and resourcefulness.
